Well, I did about 45K miles in the last 6 years on my Honda CB500S. While it may sound a lot, my daily trips were usually 1 hour in each direction. My Spada fabric jacket and trousers are smelly  smile and not waterproof any more, Shoei Raid 2 helmet shows a lot of tiny scratches, gloves (Spada, don't remember model, and Hein Gericke Pathan) are leaking and Daytona Gore-Tex boots are cold and wet when I drive through a rain. I thought I was careful with my gear, but it looks like it does not work properly any more. So I wonder if it is time to change my gear. How long does such gear usually last?
Thank you.

None of my kit lasts anywhere near that long! I've done about that distance and I have been through at least 2 of everything!

Depends on a lot of factors.

I tend to buy a new helmet every couple of years regardless.

my spada "waterproof" boots and rst gloves (both with hipora lining) gave up the ghost about 13 months after i bought them.

note that goretex stuff should be covered by a 10year guarantee

my heated gloves have started playing up, only my right hand was warm this morning :/

nod nod

my textiles didn't last well, so reverted to leather (looked after with leather balm etc) and oversuit waterproofs, hein gericke bullson boots have lasted about three years each,  10-20k a year mostly.

have you tried that wash-in reproofer?

I do about 30,000 a year as a motorcycle instructor.
Shoei multitec lasts around 2 years.
Halvarrsons Safety Suit is just over 2 years old, but I have got 2 outer jackets and trousers.
Sidi boots last about 18 months with 1 resole in that time.
Gloves last about 2 years as well.

Some of my stuff lasts years and other stuff lassts weeks.  I do tend to pay more as i find it's cost effective in the long run.
I don't do the mileage you do as most of my riding seems to be about once a week but when given the chance, I will rack up 400 miles plus in a day

I'd like to say you get what you pay for, but I'm not so sure:

Shoei Helmets - tend to replace these after a few years regardless, but if I don't get 30K+ out of them I'm tinkled off. Currently have a BMW one which is two years and 15K.

Frank Thomas Leather Jacket - Donkeys years now 100K plus miles and almost as good as the day I bought it

Weiss two piece waterproof - must be 12 years old now and still does its job perfectly.

HG intermediate gloves - Gortex. Very comfy, but were never more that shower proof

Sidi summer gloves - one layer of the outer leather came off very quickly as they are just not very robust and expensive

BMW winter Gloves - 15 years  shocked  Stitchning just roted away in the end  laughing  My current set (also BMW) 2 years so far.

Rev-it suit. Waterproof trouser liner fell to pieces; replaced FOC. Stitching frayed; repaired FOC.  Waterproof trousers aren't because of a design flaw.  But new liner yet to be tested in earnest!  Would I buy them again?  No, HG much better value

laughing Yup, best avoided OK!  I had a terrible habit of resting then on the sissy bar on my old T'bird and then launch them down the road when I swung my foot over.  Bloody doughnut  who?  me?
