Dear mudflaps
Another year, another round of mayhem. The date this year is Tuesday 8th May, so following the bank holiday Monday. If you already know the score then start chasing your piggy banks, for the uninitiated (ahem) then here are last year's shenanigans:
http://www.gbbikers.co.uk/gbb/index.php/topic,48582.0.html
I can fairly well promise you can't have more fun on a bike, on your own at least.

PM me or reply below with questions. I'll be looking to wrap up places by the end of Feb but will let you know about last-minute ones later on.

PLEASE NOTE! If you want to come but can't make the date in May then there may be another in August, with sufficient numbers. Or you can come twice. Anyway let me know if this is you, as these things fill up quickly when the sun comes out.

This was quality last year. I would only hope we get more folks this year, as the bikes were sat doing nothing for a fair bit  - it got to the point where folk were groaning at the prospect of getting back on, believe it or not!

Having a good level of stamina is defintely a benefit. but it is certainly suitable for absolute beginners.

I can't remember the cost but it involves tentatively crawling round a slippery slidery off road track on a 250 that when you first get on it, seems too fast and powerful, at sub-CBT speeds, until you either:

A) find your bloomers and then welly it round making an impressive 4" of air and chucking hoofing great roostertails everywhere you go.
B) fall off a lot (my option of choice) due to too much A and not enough skill. but you are well protected in full kit - you should get away with just a few bruises and aches.

its a full day - and I mean a "Full" day. You will be knackered after it. But it is Bloody good fun.

Kwak lover see the link in my original post, this takes you to last year's thread where it is all explained. It's about £110 (depends exactly on the numbers) and as long as you're over 7 years old you qualify. Even if you can ride on the road, you'll soon find that makes little difference! It's great fun. All you need is underpants and lunch, the rest is provided.

Not sure - I have got to do a few other bits, bit short notice for me to confirm just yet. I will probably look to grab any places last minute as they come up?

Bumpity bump bump. 2 things...

There is a spare place for 8th May, please let me know very soon if you would like it. Kwaklover?

There should be another outing on 28th August with enough interest. Please speak up now as I don't have the minimum numbers for a second group just yet.

Put me down for the 28th as well, on the provisio that if someone who didn't get to go in May wants the place then they can have it.

Brilliant day.  i wasn't sure what to expect as never been off road before other than a guided tour once, when i had 2 good legs.
I tried the 125's but my short legs couldn't cope with the push from the right side, so i stuck with the 85cc which was brilliant fun.  I did do a few laps on the 125 but I needed someone to catch me when I got off.
For starters, we had a briefining then a "playground" to get used to the bikes and learn body positioning and get used to the bike moving under us.  The who style is totally alien to what I use on the road, though I was still sticking my knee out.  The guys talking to us made us all feel at ease and understand what we needed to do.
Onto the proper track, we had to follow a guy who was showing us the lines.  there was a big jump where he turned a sharp left to avoid it whereas I missed that left and had an 8 foot mound in front of me. SH11111111111T!!!!!!!!!  I made it up and over with no drama apart from lots of head shaking in disbelief and after that the rest seemed fairly easy.  i was soon attacking the jumps with gusto trying to get the back wheel more than an inch off the ground and by the end of the day, I had at least one long airborne jump.  I was mega pleased with myself.
Every one came home knackered with a huge grin.
Roll on next year.
Thanks to Guru for orgainising it.

Yeah, I bought myself a go pro Hero 2, a couple of weeks ago, been thinking about it for ages and sold the 125, so that funded it! Really chuffed with the camera, a little disappointed with the battery life, but got 3 higher capacity batteries on the way for the princely sum of £12, hopefully that will sort that issue for me.
