I am so very sorry to hear of the death of any young man in his prime.  My heart goes out to all involved.  crying

I have removed the link to the incident as I consider it to be in poor taste and I sincerely apologise for any distress it may have caused.

In my opinion he did what he loved (and who would'nt). He went out in a VERY BIG BANG(not a whimper). Good on you Marco. Died what you loved doing. RESPECT!!!

lets look at this shall we

he came off of his motorcycle at about a ton in a bend .... he was hit by another motorcycle which removed his helmet and was then hit by another .... he then after being removed from the track briefly regained conciouness and then he died.....

which bit of that do you think he loved doing the most? i have never heard anything so rediculous

I think what he meant is that whilst it is an awful thing to happen and he will be sorely missed, not least for the Sideshow Bob-sized hole he will leave in MotoGP that heralds the return to fairly predictable (I am not a betting man, but if I was MotoGP would be my sport), subdued and formulaic races, that Marco was not killed in a car accident or a freak windsurfing mishap, he was out there doing what he loved to do. He was one of the most entertaining riders I have seen for a while. The risks for any of those guys is great enough, but when you ride like he often did you need luck on your side as well as skill. He was unlucky it seems to me. Had Rossi and Edwards not been there he would have slid off into the kitty litter. Rossi always has the ability to entertain (well Honda/Yam days) but you come to expect it so it in itself becomes mundane, but really what makes bike racing exciting for me is rarely found at the top level. BSB/WSB is a lot more cut and thrust to my mind and genuinely exciting for it. Yet Simoncelli showed a great deal of promise and rode at times like an immortal. It is tragic that he had to go at all, particularly so young and with so much promise, but he accepted the risks and died doing what he loved doing (he always seemed to be grinning and he rode with far more exuberance than most). I am sure Bill is not suggesting he loved the actual accident. RIP Simoncelli.

Well put.
I had to giggle when I saw your signature at the bottom of your post though.

You should be careful with your analogies.  You might start some nasty rumours. laughing
