You provide a link because it's convenient and because that's how the web works.  There's nothing to stop a kid using Google so that's no argument.

In which case there's no argument against posting nudity, pornography, bombmaking or anything else which would be deemed unsuitable for a 'family forum'.

+1 in fact the link is in some ways a darn right safer. Google can throw up some truly horrible stuff!!

Seems contradictory. You're implying that anything which can be googled can be linked. If there's any debate it's whether something is suitable to be linked from this forum or not.

As to what can and can't be linked, well, if you aren't sure (and 9 times out of 10 you would be), just ask your local friendly moderator. And if we don't approve, you'll soon know about it.  toothy grin

I thought they did when Deej removed the link, not sure why this is being dredged.

None of those thing relate in any way to the forum's subject, motorbikes.

We also have a board entitled Off Topic and another entitled, the Playground.

The point is that the link was directly related to the subject of the thread, which was on topic for the board.  None of the things you mentioned would be considered valid topics in any board here.

I never said it was.  I was pointing out that the additional examples you provided were not applicable.

What is appropriate is what is under discussion here.

My original point on the appropriateness of the OP video is that the actual video content of the clip is no different to many of the videos that are posted here.  To understand the difference I child (or other "sensitive" person) would have to have already understood the fact of the death that occurred.  Since the video is not graphic I do not see how viewing it could upset anyone who was aware of the event.
