RIP

I actually saw the crash on tv as it happened. I thought it looked bad at the time but not this bad.

Scott Redding was also involved in the crash and it has been said he was still receiving treatment.

That was a horrific crash, it didn't look good at all, you could tell they were worried/or knew  the way the commentators  spoke

Awful.

Not sure how many saw the news of Peter Lenz @ Indianapolis http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2010/Misano+tribute+to+Peter+Lenz

It's disappointing that Peter's death wasn't even mentioned on the BBC coverage last weekend.

It's alright... While the BBC were covering Tomizawa's death on MotoGP, there was also not a single mention for quite some time on SkySports News, as they were too busy going on about that fat-loafed Rooney gimp.

Two riders died at the IOM GP last week and I didn't hear a single word on any news reports.

Very sad for all the riders and their families and especially for those riders directly involved.

Very sad indeed to see lives ended in such a way, but then each one new the risks so respect to them all.

its always sad to hear of deaths, whether track racers, friends or riders at the TT.

i went to see Guy Martin in Stevenage the other week, at a bike safe thing at which he did a Q&A session.  He couldnt wait to get back racing, i dont remember his exact quote but he pretty much said its what he does and loves doing it, risking life and limb.  its what he always knew he wanted to do.

they do all know the risks.

i really feel for the young 125 rider though, whether 13 is too young im not sure...

Taste is of course a matter of taste.  Is it any more tasteless watching it in a replay than watching it live?  I think not.  However, that is not what I was really getting at.   I just get bored with people complaining about viewing things that they have to click away from the site they are reading to view.

yes it is. because it smacks of entertainment. I don't find watching someone's moment of death particularly entertaining.

No one forced you to click the link. confused

I didn't. I don't want to watch someone die. I did say as much.

Nobody has to pay any attention to my strange moral philosophy, Its purely personal. However that aside, the owners of this forum constantly remind us ordinary members that this is a 'family forum' Watching someone die isn't I believe ordinarily looked upon as appropriate for family viewing.

I find crashes as entertaining as anyone.. some are very funny. some you wonder how they managed to walk away.. some are quite nasty.. but are worth watching because you can learn from them. But when someone is killed. No.. thats a step too far.

and thats all I have to say on the matter. until the next time someone posts a link to a fatal crash. then i'll wave my little red flag again.

With MB on this.
I think out of respect the initial post is fine.
Eurosport won't repeat the race accident which I agree with.
I have been in the position where I missed the races where both Graig Jones and Tomizowa were killed and I watched the Jonesy race after doing a google search.  In retrospect, I wish I hadn't.  I won't be doing that with Tomizowa.
There's always google for those who have to watch it.  It's not difficult to find, so there's no need for a link.
I certainly wouldn't want any children of mine watching it though obviously, if it was live, it wouldn't be able to be helped.

For me it's nothing to do with if the chap died or not I have an interest in what the cause of the accident was, it's the same reason I watched the ayrton senna documentary not to see a person die but to understand the reason why.

I watch loads of accident clips for the above reason, but if someone dies it does make me sad and don't intentionally look up that kind of clip but they are put there.  I am with WS, some people want to watch it some don't. Those who don't must know what the content of the link is likely to be so just dont click it.

You provide a link because it's convenient and because that's how the web works.  There's nothing to stop a kid using Google so that's no argument.
