Quick question (for all those happy campers out there  ) When you park up on the grass, how is the best way to do it to stop the bike tipping? I only have a side stand (no centre stand) and last time I tried to park on grass, I had to find some tarmac as the side stand just sank into the ground and nearly toppled the bike  Cheers  |

use a pug puck! I'm a  A little plastic disc that goes under the side stand to spread the weight and stops the side stand from sinking into the ground! |

Most folk use a 'puck',a piece of hard plastic, wood, metal about 75mm dia.
Many use the free stuff handed out at bike circuits or safety shows, you can even buy them from shops/ on line suppliers.
If you get stuck just use a drinks can after mashing it flat.
My own favorite is a piece of aluminium; drill a hole near the outside and attach a piece of string/fishing line. Carried in the map case, it means you can dangle the puck until the side stand is in place and hook the free end over the bars. This way you stay on the bike until it is secure. And at run time just pop the stand back and retrieve the thing back into the map case.

I plan to copy something else I saw on a camping trip by drilling a hole in my puck and attaching one of those disk lock reminders to it. I nearly rode off without picking it up when I used mine first.

I might be able to make something then, as I've got a 4"x12" piece of nylon board I can play about with Mind you, depending on what the 5 campsites I've booked are like, I may not even need them (hopefully) as I can just lean the bike up against a tree |

We've got the pucks BUT what I have found is that once on the bike and upright I can't reach to pick it up. Next job is to drill a hole in it and attach some string or as said before, one of the yellow leads you get with disc locks.
