I have been told that i need to wait until i have done my theory (on the 14th) before i can get a test booked.  I am also goign away on the12th September till the 31st so i need to have my test completed by the 12th.

What do you think the chances are of me being able to book in a test and have it completed for then??

(I live in the North West - Warrington to be exact)

Cheers

Mike

I think you can book your practical test before you complete your theory, but if you have not passed your theory test before the practical test date, you will not be able to do your practical test and will not get a refund.

But i am not sure if they need to see your theory certificate before they will give you a test date.

Well strangely enough my dad is also doing his theory on the 14th with his CBT the day before on the 13th. He has got his test booked for the 26th of september which is the earliest date he could get (varies where you are Oviously) so they appear happy enough to provisonally book the practical if you haven't passed your theory yet. depends on the company because they have to turn down potentioally people who have already passed their theory in the hopes of you passing your theory and then they can offically book it with all your details. you will just have to hope they will give you the earliest date they can. personally I am a little optimistic as to whether or not you will get it for any time before the 12th especially with the test changing on the 28th of sept people will be putting in for it more. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE OK!

A school can book a slot for you before you've passed the theory, but they like to give the certificate number to the test centre to confirm the booking. I booked my test before I'd passed the theory with no problem.

Well it seems i am knackered, got my theory on Thursday, CBT passed on sunday, my instructer said he can book it but he hasnt got any places at the min and says that i would prob be getting the same as him, also if i fail my theory i am knackered.

So i called the practical test line, the nearest 10 centres had no practical tests available.

Once i have done my theory i can call and try for a cancelation.

Would you suggest i still do my DAS because i can get that in before the 12th then if a test becomes available i get in and do it, but then if it doesnt then i will have to do the new test (oh and i am away for 3 weeks between the 12th and the 30th september)

What would you guys do>??

Keep your options open, you can try for both a DAS or a restricted test. And DO whichever test that has a slot available, but remember if it is a restricted test then you will have to ride a bike for 2 yrs with a maximum output of 33bhp.

Maybe I'm not a biker after all, when I read that title I really was expecting a write up of a first date with a girl  embarrassed
