Yamaha R6 - it's NOT pink!

WWW
« on: August 07, 2007, 07:37:45 PM »

No swearing.

We consider ourselves a family-friendly forum and do not allow any foul language.

There is an automatic word censor in place that changes rude words to bakery products, much to the amusement of most of the members.

Please do not try to get round the word censor by using asterisks, dollar signs, or mis-spelling rude words. This just annoys the mods.

No commercial advertising without permission.

In an effort to prevent the forum being over-run by spam, we do not allow any commercial advertising without prior agreement.

Personal items can be advertised through our Advertising Forums. Anyone wishing to advertise any other commercial items or services must apply to the forum administrator. This includes links placed in signatures.

Adverts placed without permission may be removed by any member of the mod team without warning or any further explanation. Persistent offenders may be banned.

Links to other forums

If you are giving information, knock yourselves out.
If you are using them to advertise your own forum, face book or web page, please ask admin if this is ok.
If you get the go ahead, please check any links for viruses and mark them as NSFW if that is the case.
Links that are just for commercial or profitable advertising will not be allowed.

No picture sigs.

We do not allow picture sigs as they tend to break up threads and make them hard to read.

Moving avatars are permitted, but we reserve the right to remove them, or ask you to do so, if they are *really* annoying wink

No multiple accounts.

You only need one. Setting up multiple accounts may lead to all your accounts being banned.

(Except Arthur / himsteve, who should just drop Admin a PM with his latest username wink)

Private Messages.

Are exactly that.  If you use the private message facility, it is not seen by the administrators or moderators of this forum, unless

1) you reply to the link on the email notification, or
2) The email notification is undeliverable (if the recipient has an invalid email address, for example).
3) It is reported, or otherwise forwarded, to Admin by the recipient.

In the first two cases it bounces back to the Admin inbox (and this does happen, so we advise you to think carefully about whether you would be happy for your message to be seen by Admin)

If you receive a threatening, upsetting or abusive private message, please send a copy of it to whichever member of the mod / admin team you like best smile

Sending threatening, upsetting or abusive private messages will lead to you being banned.

Posting private messages on the main boards without the express written permission of the original author will lead to you being banned.

Forwarding private messages to other members of the forum without the express written permission of the original author will lead to you being banned.

Strictly No Merchandising.

The GBBikers name and logo have been copyrighted. They must not be used anywhere, including on merchandise / clothing etc. without the express written permission of the copyright owner / Admin of this site.

General Stuff (which most of you probably don't need telling anyway....)

The mods and the admin team are here with the best interests of the forum as a whole at heart. Having said that, it is impossible to please all of the people all of the time, no matter how hard we try. You can all help us out by respecting a few guidelines, not of forum ettiquette, but of reasonable social human behaviour:

Treat others as you would expect to be treated.

Most of us have had the experience of forming an opinion of someone on the interweb, only to be proved completely wrong (for better or for worse) on meeting them. Always worth bearing in mind wink

Respect others' opinions - just because you do not agree does not mean that you are right and they are wrong.

If you are going to give an opinion, be prepared to back it up. If someone asks you to, they're not necessarily saying you are wrong, just asking for more information.

If you dislike someone, either work out common ground or ignore them.

Don't say anything about someone that you would not say to their face (these things have a habit of working their way back to the person in question.)

None of the mod team bite. Don't be afraid to approach them if anything is bothering you, but don't expect them to pander to every whim either.
